- Abstract: The title reaction starts from easily available 2‐halobenzamides [e.g. (I)] or 2‐halonicotinamides (X) and proceeds probably via aromatic nuleophilic substitution of azide/copper catalyzed reduction/imine formation/cyclization/oxidation sequence.
