- Abstract : We propose a double‐layered light shutter using polymerdispersed liquid crystal and dye‐doped cholesteric liquid crystal layers. The proposed light shutter use light absorption, backscattering, and forward scattering so that it has a very low transmittance to block the objects behind a display panel in the opaque state.
