Abstract

Highlights: Shiga toxin-1 + TNFα enhances procoagulant tissue factor (TF) on endothelial cells. This results from a decrease in "free" cell surface TF pathway inhibitor (TFPI). The enhanced procoagulant TF is not due to an increase in "free" TF.
