- Abstract : Langmuir films of [C18 mim][NTf2 ] ionic liquid exhibited, for the first time, the reversible formation of crystalline-like structures at the surface of water, compatible with the formation of multilayers. Abstract : Langmuir films of [C18 mim][NTf2 ] ionic liquid exhibited, for the first time, the reversible formation of crystalline-like structures at the surface of water, compatible with the formation of multilayers. Atomistic molecular dynamics simulation results support the experimental findings, unambiguously indicating the existence of a trilayer.
