- Graphical abstract: Highlights: Gives the desired product in good yields under mild reaction conditions. Avoids the use of air-sensitive reagents. Carbon source is generated from the cleavage of C–N bonds. A plausible mechanism is proposed for the reaction. Abstract: Together with a base, dibromomethane enables the efficient synthesis of a broad range of functionalized phosphinates, phosphonates, and phosphates from P(O)-OH compounds and commercially available amines via C–N bond cleavage, affording the corresponding products in moderate to good yields.
