Abstract: The novel bifunctional aldehyde linchpin for type II anion relay chemistry (IV) is obtained involving an initial nucleophilic addition under Felkin‐Anh control affording the syn‐alkoxide, followed by 1, 4‐Brook rearrangement leading to the formation of a dithiane‐stabilized carbanion and subsequent trapping with an electrophile.
