Abstract

Abstract : Perfluoropropylene can be used directly for isoperfluoropropylation of arenediazonium salts in the presence of silver fluoride and cuprous iodide. A practical tandem diazotization and isoperfluoropropylation protocol was developed for aniline derivatives to generate isoperfluoropropylarenes with good functional-group compatibility. Abstract : An efficient copper-promoted isoperfluoropropylation of aryl diazonium salts is described. The reaction occurs under mild conditions using commercially available hexafluoropropylene (HFP) as the starting material. In addition, a one-pot direct diazotization and isoperfluoropropylation protocol was developed. The method allows facile conversion of various arylamines into isoperfluoropropylarenes with good functional group compatibility using HFP.
