- Abstract: Adenovirus is a common pediatric pathogen responsible for a wide variety of infections. Despite this, secondary bacteremia following an adenovirus infection has not been previously systematically described. Herein, we describe seven cases of secondary bacteremia following an adenovirus infection in hospitalized children during an 8-year period. Pediatricians should be informed of this serious complication.
