Abstract

Abstract : Obstet Gynecol Surv 2016;71(3):153–155 The aim of this updated American Cancer Society (ACS) guideline was to provide guidance and flexibility for women at average risk for breast cancer about when to start and stop screening mammography and how frequently screening should be performed. Since the last ACS update on breast cancer screening in 2003, new evidence has accumulated showing the need for greater emphasis on harms associated with screening and for balance of benefits and harms.
