Abstract

Abstract : In article number 1500327, Wei Qi, Yuefei Wang, and co‐workers describe the counterion‐directed self‐assembly at aqueous liquid‐liquid interfaces through the combination of an aromatic dipeptide solution and a solution of high‐molecular‐weight polysaccharide chitosan. Subtle modulations of the counterions change the self‐assembling pathway localized at the interfaces, leading to the formation of various materials from hydrogels with strong birefringence to robust membrane with enhanced mechanical strength and tunable permeability.
