- Abstract: Since Gd3 BiO3 (I) is only observed as a minor impurity, Gd8 Bi3 O8 (II) is prepared by solid state reaction of a 1:1 molar mixture of GdBi and Gd2 O3 (Ta ampoules in Mo susceptor under vacuum, 1300 °C, 24 h).
