Abstract

Abstract : The reported water-soluble, non-cytotoxic phenol-diamide compound, 1OH, is capable of both, trapping ROS species and chelating Cu(ii )/Fe(iii ) ions; thereby inducing a protective effect against ROS induced cell death. Abstract : The phenol-diamide compound, 5-( tert -butyl)-2-hydroxy- N 1, N 3-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)isophthalamide (1OH ), is water-soluble, non-cytotoxic, and capable of both, trapping ROS species and chelating Cu(ii ) and Fe(iii ) ions; these combined properties confer a protective effect against ROS induced cell death.
