- Graphical abstract: Two novel oxomolybdenum(V)-trispyrazolylborate complexes [(TpMoO)(μ2 -O)2 (MoOTp)](Tp = tris(pyrazolyl)borate) (1 ) and [(Tp 4I MoOCl)(μ-O)(MoOClTp 4I )](Tp 4I = tris(4-iodinpyrazolyl)borate) (2 ) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Their catalytic performances in cyclohexane (Cy) oxidation were studied. It is found that the catalytic performances of molybdenum(V) complexes1 and2 were far more better than the molybdenum(VI) complexes with the similar structure. The influence of the amount of H2 O2, HNO3 and the solvents on the Cy oxidation were investigated too.
