- Abstract : An assay for the lung transplant biomarker ET-1 is reported that allows levels of this molecule to be reported with record-breaking speed and sensitivity. Abstract : Endothelin-1 is a potent vasoconstrictive peptide that plays an important role in ex vivo lung perfusion. ET-1 expression levels are predictive of lung transplant outcomes and represent a valuable monitoring tool for surgeons; however, traditional techniques that measure [ET-1] are not suitable for the transplant setting. Herein, we demonstrate a new assay that rapidly measures ET-1 peptide levels in lung perfusate.
