DOI: 10.1002/elps.201200486 A nanoelectrode array dielectrophoresis chip made of vertically aligned carbon nanofibers versus a macroscale indium tin oxide covered glass slide was integrated in a microfluidic device in a "points‐and‐lid" configuration. Upon applying an AC voltage of 10 Vpp at 10 kHz, a high electric field gradient was generated at the carbon nanofiber tips, which were able to capture over 60% of virus particles (bacteriophages) in a dilute (∼9 × 10 4 pfu mL ‐1 ) fluidic flow by dielectrophoresis. At high concentrations, the virus particles were highly polarized to form a chain‐like structure showing interesting "lighting" patterns.
