Abstract: Using the title reagent, fully protected gluco‐ and mannopyranosides can be selectively Pmb‐ and naphthylmethyl‐cleaved leaving arylthio, methyl‐, benzyl‐, and silyl‐ether functions as well as acetate protective groups unaffected.
