- Abstract: A copper‐catalyzed annulation of ethylene glycol with various 1, 3‐dicarbonyl compounds, including (hetero)arylacetoacetic esters, amides, ketones, and thioesters is elaborated which provides 2, 3‐disubstituted furans, mostly regioselectively, in moderate to high yields.
