- Abstract : Ed O'Bannon claimed that the National Collegiate Athletic Association's eligibility rules that prohibit student‐athletes from receiving compensation for the use of their names, images and likenesses violated antitrust laws. In August 2014, U.S. District Court Judge Claudia Wilken agreed and enjoined the NCAA from enforcing any rule that would limit a scholarship below the full cost of attendance and from prohibiting the funding of a trust fund for each student‐athlete at a rate up to $5, 000 per year (an amount she established).
