Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">The probability of achieving a high BSHS-B score six months from injury was estimated.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">Gender, surgery, upper limb burn and BSHS-B score within six weeks were significant predictors.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">ROC analysis found 90% accuracy overall and 14% specificity at 80% probability of good outcome.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0020"> <label></label> <p id="par0020">ROC analysis in an independent sample confirmed high accuracy of the predictive model.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0025"> <label></label> <p id="par0025">Missing data analysis found that younger patients with smaller TBSA were lost to follow-up.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
