Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The Inside Cover picture shows</bold> a carbon/silicon composite material, which is a promising anode substrate for use in lithium‐ion batteries. The 3D woven‐like carbon (WLC) structure was synthesized through direct carbonization of polymer patterns that were prepared using multi‐beam interference lithography. Subsequent simple solution coating was applied to decorate the WLC with silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs). The SiNPs/WLC electrode exhibits an outstanding retention capacity and Coulombic efficiency. The high rate capability is attributed to the WLC structure and the uniform decoration of the SiNPs, which can accommodate large volume expansion and/or high mass transport.<graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgkwbtp64j" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
