<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="adom201570063-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>Q. Bao and co‐workers investigate the nonlinear optical properties of black phosphorus (BP) and demonstrate its usage as a new saturable absorber for high‐energy pulse generation in fiber lasers. On page 1447, solution‐exfoliated BP is encapsulated in a polymer matrix to avoid oxidization and degradation. Strong saturable absorption in terms of a large modulation depth is observed in the BP‐polymer composite, ensuring highly stable Q‐switched pulse generation. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgkss1j4kw" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
