- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="adom201570062-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>Arbitrary control of terahertz waves remains a significant challenge. On page 1374, B. Jin, W. Liu, T. J. Cui, and co‐workers demonstrate a 1‐bit coding metasurface with low reflectivity. When a THz pulse is illuminated on this metasurface, the reflection wave can be diverted into various directions, leading to a low reflectivity of less than −10 dB over a wide frequency range. The metasurface, supported by a polyimide layer, is flexible and conforms to curved objects, therefore, it may be applicable to various THz components or devices in communication and imaging systems. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgkss1j3gv" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
