<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="adma201570263-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>An optical nanoruler system based on a conjugated polyelectrolyte (CP)‐silver nanoprism (Ag NPR) pair is developed for label‐free biological detection by taking advantage of the metal‐enhanced fluorescence (MEF) effect of Ag nanostructures. The system described by L. Li, S. Wang, and co‐workers on page 6040 effectively transduces and amplifies the change of the metal–fluorophore distance into the response of the CP fluorescence, which is used to monitor the presence of specific antigens and even mammalian cells with high sensitivity and good selectivity. <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgkhm1fdqt" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </abstract>
