- <abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj2xx1138m" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />A chitosan based material with a polyvinylpyrrolidone membrane was prepared and used to adsorb iodine. The resultant material exhibited the sustained-release of iodine, and significant antibacterial activity against <italic>E. coli</italic> and <italic>S. aureus</italic>.</p> </abstract>
