- <abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj2xwvbb58" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />The characteristic mineral-free fibrous skeletons (made of structural protein-spongin) of <italic>H. communis</italic> (Demospongiae: Porifera) was used as a structural template in hydrothermal synthesis of hematite (α-Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>) nanoparticles.</p> </abstract>
