<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj2xvksd7p" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />We devised a rhodamine-based fluorescent probe functionalized with a guanidinium moiety, which both operates efficiently in pure aqueous media and displays a selective fluorescence response to Au³⁺ ions.</p> </abstract>
