<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">Taxane induced neuropathy (TIN) is the most limiting side effect of taxane based chemotherapy in breast cancer patients.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">There is no standard therapy for TIN, although many different drugs, antioxidants and natural substances have been tested.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">Duloxetine is the only drug with proved efficacy in TIN management listed in 2014 ASCO guidelines.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0020"> <label></label> <p id="par0020">Further randomized controlled clinical trials are needed to identify new strategies for prevention and treatment of TIN.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
