<abstract xml:lang="en" abstract-type="author-highlights" id="ab005"> <title id="st005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="sp0005"> <list id="l0005"> <list-item id="o0005"> <label></label> <p id="p0005">The genotoxicity of 70 flavour and fragrance substances was assessed using BlueScreen HC.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0010"> <label></label> <p id="p0010">Positive results are highly predictive of positive regulator-required <italic>in vitro</italic> assays.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0015"> <label></label> <p id="p0015">Negative results were highly predictive of negative <italic>in vivo</italic> results.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0020"> <label></label> <p id="p0020">A top 1 mM or 0.5 mg/ml dose maintains sensitivity and increases specificity.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0025"> <label></label> <p id="p0025">The assay can fill data gaps for materials with no/limited regulatory test data.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
