<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">For the first time, we evaluated the inhibitory effect of UVA-induced crosslinking on both MMPs and cathepsin-K.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">UVA-induced crosslinking was tested in the presence/absence of photosensitizer in terms of the loss of dentin mass, degradation by MMPs and cathepsin-K.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">The results of the study showed that UVA-induced crosslinking significantly inactivated endogenous proteases of dentin.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
