<abstract xml:lang="en" abstract-type="author-highlights" id="ab005"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <sec> <title id="st005">Highlights</title> <p id="sp0005"> <list id="l0005"> <list-item id="o0005"> <label></label> <p id="p0005">Anti-CD20 mAbs combined with chemotherapy have become the standard treatment of Non-Hodgkin Lymphomas (NHL).</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0010"> <label></label> <p id="p0010">Mechanisms of action of this anti-CD20 mAbs <italic>in vivo</italic> are not fully understood.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0015"> <label></label> <p id="p0015">Binding of rituximab to CD20 is not sufficient to heal every patient with a Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0020"> <label></label> <p id="p0020">We review the mechanisms of action and resistance of rituximab, and the efforts needed to overcome it.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="o0025"> <label></label> <p id="p0025">We also focus on new drugs targeting pathways implicated in resistance to anti-CD20 mAbs.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
