- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The back cover picture</bold>, provided by Arjan W. Kleij and co‐workers, illustrates the two‐step formation of highly functionalized urea synthons from readily available and cheap precursors such as phenyl carbamate, epoxides and amines: an efficient approach to <bold>urea‐complexity</bold>. Versatile aluminium‐based (aminotriphenolate) complexes are used for the synthesis of oxazolidinone intermediates which are aminolyzed in the presence of various amine reagents to afford a broad scope of urea derivatives. Their synthetic utility is demonstrated through an alkyne‐substituted urea using typical click reaction conditions with potential for immobilization or post‐synthetic modifications.
