Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Involucratustones A–C (<bold>1</bold>–<bold>3</bold>), three cadinane dimers containing multiple contiguous quaternary carbons, were isolated from the rhizomes of <italic>Stahlianthus involucratus</italic>. Their structures were determined by a combination of NMR spectroscopy, chemical conversion, and X‐ray diffraction analysis. Compounds <bold>1</bold> and <bold>2</bold> are rearranged homodimers of cadinane sesquiterpene fused with a unique fully substituted 1‐oxaspiro[4.4]nonane core observed for the first time in natural products, and <bold>3</bold> is a novel 3′, 4′‐<italic>seco</italic>‐cadinane‐dimer. Compounds <bold>1</bold> and <bold>2</bold> exhibited potent cytotoxic activities, and <bold>3</bold> showed notable anti‐inflammatory effect.</p> </abstract>
