<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0005"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">Extensive analysis of risk factors for and the outcome of MRSA positivity in over 350 burn patients.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">We show a significant negative impact of MRSA positivity on burn patients' outcome.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">Our findings stress the need for further efforts toward MRSA infection control and screening procedures.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
