Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The synthesis</bold> of glyoxal bis(amidiniumhydrazone) sulfate (shown in red) was first reported by the German chemist Johannes Thiele in 1898. Now, R. Custelcean et al. describe in their Communication on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 10525 ff.</ext-link> the crystal structure of this salt, which contains extended hydrogen‐bonded sulfate‐‐water clusters (shown on the right).
