<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj2g316zpq" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />We propose that nano-sized Mn oxides are true catalysts for the oxidation of some alcohols to aldehydes in the presence of a mononuclear manganese(<sc>ii</sc>) complex, and Oxone as an oxidant.</p> </abstract>
