Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>New cyclodextrin‐based systems have recently been developed for aqueous organometallic <named-content content-type="reactionType" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">catalysis</named-content>. Through this review, the major advances made in the field are commented upon and discussed. The role of cyclodextrins as <named-content content-type="chemicalTechnology" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">mass transfer</named-content> promoters, molecular platforms, <named-content content-type="chemicalTechnology" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">building blocks</named-content> for the formation of Pickering emulsions and thermoresponsive catalytic systems is especially emphasized. The catalytic performances of these cyclodextrin‐based catalytic systems are highlighted in two model reactions, namely the rhodium‐catalysed <named-content content-type="reactionType" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">hydroformylation</named-content> of terminal olefins and the palladium‐catalysed cleavage of allyl carbonates (<named-content content-type="reactionType" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">Tsuji–Trost reaction</named-content>).
