<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj2fgw16x5" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />Spectroscopy of Eu³⁺ ions in Cd_{1−3<italic>x</italic>}Eu_{2<italic>x</italic>}□_{<italic>x</italic>}MoO₄, points out the three main non-equivalent symmetry sites very close to each other, due to the subtle differences in emission. Eu³⁺ ions in this almost ideal red light phosphor possess S₄ point symmetry.</p> </abstract>
