- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>A series of alkanediyl‐spaced bis‐bisurea ligands (<bold>L<sup>2</sup></bold>–<bold>L<sup>4</sup></bold>) were synthesized and their anion coordination behavior studied. These ligands form interesting complexes with polymeric and oligomeric dihydrogen phosphate aggregates in the solid state. The ligands <bold>L<sup>2</sup></bold> and <bold>L<sup>3</sup></bold> coordinate with H<sub>2</sub>PO<sub>4</sub><sup>–</sup> anions to form a unique molecular "necklace" with an infinite (H<sub>2</sub>PO<sub>4</sub><sup>–</sup>)<italic><sub>n</sub></italic> chain and surrounding ligand molecules. Meanwhile, two different dihydrogen phosphate‐water oligomers, (H<sub>2</sub>PO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>6</sub><bold>·</bold>(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>4</sub> and (H<sub>2</sub>PO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>4</sub><bold>·</bold>(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>2</sub>, were observed in the complexes with the ligands <bold>L<sup>3</sup></bold> and <bold>L<sup>4</sup></bold>. In addition, solution anion binding properties of the ligands were studied by <sup>1</sup>H NMR and UV/Vis spectroscopy.</p> </abstract>
