Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="cam4458-abs-0002"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>We report that single‐fraction radiation therapy (SFRT) is a well‐tolerated treatment for metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) with a response rate of 94% in treated lesions, in a retrospective analysis. Because SFRT diminishes tumor burden and may augment the immunogenicity of tumors, this approach may have particular utility in combination with emerging systemic immune‐stimulating therapies for MCC and other immunogenic cancers. <boxed-text content-type="graphic" id="cam4458-blkfxd-0001" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj2cqnqqtx" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
