<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="cam4470-abs-0002"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>This study reports 10‐year follow‐up data on a cohort of 88 patients whose rib marrow was examined prospectively for bone marrow micrometastatic tumor cells (BMM). Multivariate Cox analysis of interaction of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, nodal status, and BMM positivity showed that the contribution of BMM to disease‐specific and overall survival is significant (<italic>P</italic> = 0.014). <boxed-text content-type="graphic" id="cam4470-blkfxd-0001" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj2cqnqr29" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
