<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj2b3c7qrn" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />Three new alkaline earth metal carboxyphosphonates with a 3D supramolecular structure, namely, Ca[(H₃L)(H₂O)] (<bold>1</bold>), Sr[(H₃L)(H₂O)₂] (<bold>2</bold>) and Ba₂[(H₃L)₂(H₂O)₄] (<bold>3</bold>) have been hydrothermally synthesized. The luminescent and molecular recognition properties of compounds <bold>1–3</bold> were investigated.</p> </abstract>
