<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj268dhpxr" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />Multinuclear aluminum cocatalysts have been obtained by the reaction of various phenols, alcohols or diols with trimethylaluminum and were used <italic>in situ</italic> or as isolated, well-defined species, for the activation of an iron(<sc>ii</sc>) or an iron(<sc>iii</sc>) pre-catalyst for the oligomerization of ethylene.</p> </abstract>
