<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgj268dhhff" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />The pyridine-containing ligands <bold>L1</bold> and <bold>L2</bold> react with Ni²⁺ ions to afford dinuclear triple-stranded helicate and tetrahedral cage supramolecular complexes, respectively; the two architectures exhibit contrasting reactivity towards electro- and photocatalytic proton reduction.</p> </abstract>
