- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The novel cluster compounds [Cu(en)<sub>2</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)] [Cu(en)<sub>2</sub>] <sub>4</sub>{AsNb<sub>9</sub>V<sub>7</sub>O<sub>44 </sub>}·8H<sub>2</sub>O (I) and [Cu(en)<sub>2</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)] [Cu(en)<sub>2</sub>] <sub>4</sub>H{AsNb<sub>8</sub>V<sub>8</sub>O<sub>44 </sub>}·11H<sub>2</sub>O (II) are prepared in 41 and 38% yield, resp., by solvothermal reaction of K<sub>7</sub>HNb<sub>6</sub>O<sub>19</sub>, Cu(OAc)<sub>2</sub>, Na<sub>2</sub>VO<sub>3</sub>, As<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, and en under nearly identical conditions (HCl, H<sub>2</sub>O, autoclave, 160 °C, 5 d) except for the pH value which should be in the range 10.3—10.6 for (I) and 10.7—11.0 for (II).</p> </abstract>
