- <abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="abs0005"> <title id="sect0005">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="spar0040"> <list id="lis0005"> <list-item id="lsti0005"> <label></label> <p id="par0005">Humic acid (HA) initiate growth arrest and apoptosis in fibroblasts.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0010"> <label></label> <p id="par0010">Positively charged HA make coagulation hard due to positively charged coagulants.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0015"> <label></label> <p id="par0015">We investigated HA removal using PAC with CaCO<sub>3</sub> as neutralizer and coagulant aid.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0020"> <label></label> <p id="par0020">CaCO<sub>3</sub> saves the usage of coagulants and settling time.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="lsti0025"> <label></label> <p id="par0025">We found that PAC is an effective coagulant for the removal of HA when using CaCO<sub>3</sub>.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
