<abstract abstract-type="toc"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <graphic position="anchor" id="ga" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgjjgsjdfn" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" />Complexes [{Au(C₆Cl₅)₂}Tl(L)]_{<italic>n</italic>} (luminescent) and [{Au(C₆F₅)₂}₂Tl₂(L)₂]_{<italic>n</italic>} (non-luminescent) (L = 1, 4-bis(2′-pyridylethynyl)benzene) have been synthesized and their crystal structures and photophysical properties have been studied.</p> </abstract>
