<abstract xml:lang="en" abstract-type="author-highlights" id="ab005"> <title id="st065">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="sp005"> <list id="l0005"> <list-item id="u0005"> <label></label> <p id="p0175">A new intelligent-search technique based PMU placement method is proposed.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0010"> <label></label> <p id="p0180">The zero injection buses are modeled using a simple topological transformation method.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0015"> <label></label> <p id="p0185">Incorporation of the proposed PMU placement scheme into the existing power system is also considered.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0020"> <label></label> <p id="p0190">Both single and multiple flow measurements connected to a bus can also be handled.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0025"> <label></label> <p id="p0195">Our results are more effective than the results of existing methods especially for larger systems.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
