<abstract abstract-type="author-highlights" id="ab0010"> <title id="st0010">Highlights</title> <sec> <p id="sp0010"> <list id="ulist0010"> <list-item id="u0010"> <label></label> <p id="p0010">Cervical hydrated nucleus pulposus extrusion (HNPE) is an atypical presentation of disc extrusion in the dog.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0015"> <label></label> <p id="p0015">Follow-up magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in conservatively treated dogs revealed disappearance of the extruded material.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="u0020"> <label></label> <p id="p0020">Histological examination of extruded material confirmed that it was nucleus pulposus with evidence of early degeneration.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </sec> </abstract>
