<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>A cryptophane cage in the vicinity of a paramagnetic center causes hyperpolarized ¹²⁹Xe in solution (blue color) to rapidly depolarize (red), due to chemical exchange relaxation transfer, as reported by N. R. Thomas, H. M. Faas, T. Meersmann et al. on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">p. 2294</ext-link>.
