Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The back cover picture shows</bold> a diaminetriarylmethane (right, green) with antiestrogenic activity interacting with an estrogen receptor outside the ligand‐binding domain (LBD). The interaction differs from the conventional binding of the antiestrogen 4‐hydroxytamoxifen (left, blue). This suggests that triarylmethanes modulate estrogen‐receptor‐dependent transcriptional activity and cell proliferation by an unconventional mechanism.
